Reading Nook

Every home needs a space to read, chill out and get away from the tech. This is my reading nook - not so much of a nook - but a corner of my lounge space dedicated to my swivel chair.

Alongside my Sophia patterened accent chair from dfs I have a tall floor lamp from Dunelm, and a repurposed step from Ikea.

I store my 'reading soon' books on the bottom step which leaves space for a 'real' plant (see my blog on Fake Plants and you'll be shocked to see I have real plant still alive in my house) and my mug of tea.

Creating your reading nook

In our hectic lives its important to find personal time to relax, turn off the tech and read a book (Kindles allowed 😊). Having a dedicated space to do this may feel like a luxury but it can be achieved within most spaces.

All you need is something comfy to sit on - chair, bench seat, or even a comfy set of cushions on the floor, good lighting, a throw, a book or a magazine, and a place to set down a cup of tea or a glass of wine.

Creating the perfect space

I can create a concept board for your prefect space. Either using an existing corner space, alcove in your room, or as in my nook just a small part of a room.

The concept board below features a comfy green chair from Made.com, along with a floor lamp from superiorlighting.co.uk and side table from cultfurniture.com

Along with the concept board I provide a full shopping list for each item show, a link to web shop to purchase from, amny relevant dimensions and the all important cost.
